Hi , Ethan !

I was waiting for the appointment of the French Prime Minister before writing to you .

I’m always afraid that Cedric would pay less attention on his research work and give more time to his political career.

I wonder what Cedric will do of his bureau at the IHES (Institut de Hautes Etudes Scientifiques) located at Bures-sur-Yvette .
Some of his main results have been set up in this IHES .
That needs regular attending of his bureau there .

Ethan !
Reading your last message I guess you know quite well Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems .

Unfortunately French mathematics lost the great Jean-Philippe Yoccoz , who was a brilliant specialist of Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems .
He was only 59-year-old when he passed away in September 2016 .

He taught at the Collège de France in Paris .

His nickname is “Premier” , because he was always THE winner .
First he won the Concours Général , a French High School contest .
He won the Olympics of mathematics , an international contest .
He was ranked first among the candidates admitted to attend the ENS rue d’Ulm .
He was the Major (the ranked first) of the competition of the aggregation .
He won the Fields Medal .

The 1rst (still another first !) , the 1rst of June 2017 is the day devoted to his memory at the Collège de France in Paris .

PS :

i) It’s usual for us to give nickname to some great mathematicians .
« Premier » for Jean-Philippe .
“The lady Gaga of mathematics” for Cédric .

ii) All my direct descendants live in Europe .

iii) I’m leaving Madagascar on June 2017 .

Have a great day !
